The Friendly Facebook URL
Posted on December 12th, 2008 TwitBacks No commentsYou may have noticed that the URL to your Facebook profile is unnecessarily long. This becomes an issue when you insert it into the form to create your TwitBack, since it stretches the info box out too far. If your Twitter profile is being viewed on a smaller screen, this means that valuable information may be getting cut off. Here are a couple of tricks to make sure your Facebook URL is short enough to keep your TwitBack looking slick:
1. Find your Facebook profile URL by logging in to your account. Click on the “Profile” link at the top left of your screen. Copy the URL in your browser’s address bar.

2. Next, log out of Facebook and paste the URL into the address bar. This will transform the URL into a shorter, more friendly version that displays your name instead of a long string of characters and numbers. Use this version when you fill out your TwitBack form.
3. You may also want to try creating your own Facebook Direct Profile URL for free.
These are the best methods we’ve found, but if you know of an easier or better way, please let us know! Good luck creating your personalized Twitter backgrounds!
